Changing the quality of the video stream

Last Updated: Jan 24, 2017 07:08PM GMT
This article only applies to HD cameras like the Evo, Indoor HDS and Outdoor HD Pro. Occasionally you may wish to change the quality at which your camera streams video. For instance, if you wanted to save bandwidth, you may wish to switch your HD camera to Standard Quality, as this uses roughly half the data streaming in HD does.

To change this setting, please head to the Camera Settings section of the site and select ‘Camera Settings’. Once there look for ‘Video Stream Settings’. You can then choose whether stream video in High Quality (720p HD) or Standard Quality (480p VGA). Whichever you choose, just click ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page to confirm your change.

It is worth noting that any motion recordings made during the period the camera is set to ‘Standard Quality’ will be in Standard Quality for the 7 days they are in your Video Archive.
