Updating your camera’s Motion Recording settings on-the-go

If you are away from your camera, you have several options to update your camera’s Motion Recording settings on the move.

The first is logging into the Y-cam HomeMonitor mobile app on your iOS or Android device. On the home page there is the Motion Recording button, which you can toggle on and off whenever you’d like.

Similarly you can easily access these settings on your phone’s web browser by heading to either the mobile website ( or the desktop website (

If you have previously set up a Motion Recording schedule on the website and your camera is not currently set to record, then you will not be able to manually turn it on using the above button. In this case you will need to revise your schedule to be able to turn on or off recording.

You can still do this on the move, but it will require you to log into the desktop website on your mobile device ( Once logged in, head to Settings from the Home page, and scroll down past the Motion Recording zones to the schedule. Once there, you can revise the motion recording schedule at your leisure.
If you do not want to worry about changing the schedule at short notice, it might be worth leaving the schedule active 24/7 and manually turn it on or off from the Home page of the app or mobile site whenever you’d like.
