Will a HomeMonitor work looking through a window?

Last Updated: Jun 26, 2015 11:29AM BST

You can use a HomeMonitor to look out of a window for motion detection during the day, but at night the camera’s infrared lights will reflect off the glass and obscure what the camera can see. This is the same for any infrared camera or light behind glass, and not unique to HomeMonitor.

The infrared light can be switched off from the HomeMonitor Web Portal. A solution for this would be to deactivate the camera’s night vision and install an outdoor motion-sensitive lamp.

Otherwise we’d recommend installing our HomeMonitor HD Pro Outdoor Weatherproof camera to monitor external areas.
