Upload Bandwidth Usage Monitor

Last Updated: Jan 15, 2015 11:02AM GMT
This support article outlines the features of the Bandwidth Usage Monitor.

The amount of bandwidth used includes:
  • Live View viewed on your account
  • Motion recordings being uploaded to your account

What is not included:
  • Watching archived clips
  • Downloading archived clips

More on bandwidth usage:

HomeMonitor only transmits data when motion is detected or when the camera is being watched live. With no activity or access to the camera, HomeMonitor Indoor and HD use just 40 MB of data per month. HomeMonitor HD Pro uses 85MB per month under the same conditions.

If one standard definition HomeMonitor camera were to be recording clips or being watched for a full 60 minutes every day for a whole month, you could expect to use approximately 5GB of your internet bandwidth allowance. Standard definition HomeMonitor cameras require 256kbps upload speed.

A high definition HomeMonitor with the same amount of usage would be expected to use 10GB of your internet bandwidth allowance. HD HomeMonitor cameras require 512kbps upload speed.
